You add the 2 1/2 C broth immed...Great question. <br /><br />You add the 2 1/2 C broth immediately. Then, about 30 minutes before serving (see that part in the directions above) you mix an additional 1/2 C broth with 6 T corn starch and add that to the crockpot. In total, you have 3 C beef broth in the stew, just added at different times. Hope that helps.
