DIY Fajita Seasoning

With weather this cold (yes, it’s literally colder than a freezer here), you don’t want to have to make any extra trips to the grocery store.  So, when I needed fajita seasoning recently, I decided to try to make my own.

We adjusted the recipe to our personal tastes – less zip, so we can actually taste the flavors.  But, if you like the heat, up the chili powder or toss in some red pepper flakes. The best part about it, is you can customize it to suit your family’s tastes.

It was quite tasty (recipe coming soon!).  It’s safe to say, I won’t be buying fajita seasoning any more.

DIY Fajita Seasoning – Adapted from Rebekah

  • 1/2 T chili powder
  • 1/2 T minced onion
  • 1/4 tsp. salt
  • 1 tsp. parsley
  • 1 T brown sugar
  • 1/4 tsp. cumin (or more chili powder)
  • 1/2 tsp. pepper

Directions

Measure all the ingredients together in a small bowl.  Mix well.

Store in an airtight container until ready to use.
