Growing up, my mom and I used to make these cookies every year for Christmas. I don't know why we typically only make them at Christmas, but we do. They are a delicious way to enjoy a chocolate cookie!!
Chocolate Crinkles - Adapted from Betty Crocker
{Print Recipe}
12 T of cocoa powder
1/2 C vegetable oil + 3 T
2 C sugar
4 eggs
2 tsp vanilla
2 C flour
2 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. salt
1 C powdered sugar
Mix oil, chocolate and sugar.
Blend in 1 egg at a time until well mixed. Add vanilla. Stir together flour, powder and salt. Beat into oil mix.
Mix well and chill for several hours or over night.
Drop by spoonfuls into powdered sugar.
Roll and shape into balls. Place 2 inches apart on a greased cookie sheet.
Bake at 350 for 10-12 minutes. Makes 6 dozen cookies.
Well if this is your mom's recipe and they are still loved, they have to be good! I love those deep crinkles. They remind me of another recipe for an almond cookie. Crunch on top and yet moist on the inside.
