German Pancake (aka Panekuken)

When my sister was in middle school, she learned how to make a great Panekuken. This recipe is so quick and easy, and it's a family favorite!

Panekuken - Little Laura

1 - 2 T butter
1/2 C flour
1/2 C milk
2 eggs
1 tsp. vanilla
1/4 tsp. cinnamon

Heat oven to 450 degrees. Place butter in an 8 inch pie plate and melt butter in the oven.

Meanwhile, combine flour, milk, eggs and vanilla in a bowl. Mix with a whisk until combined.

When butter is melted, remove pan from the oven and pour the flour mixture into the hot pan. Sprinkle with cinnamon.

Bake at 450 degrees for about 15 minutes, or until Panekuken is golden brown. Cut and serve with fruit or syrup.

  1. My son and I enjoyed this recipe today for breakfast - yum yum ;-) I am thinking about adding a little almond extract and doubling it for Saturday morning for the whole gang - thanks for sharing - this will be making a regualr appearance on my menu plans.

  2. I recently made one of these but the recipe called for 1 cup flour/milk and SIX eggs. I thought it was too eggy and planned on reducing the number. Will definitely try this one next time.

  5. Every Friday I do something called "Taste the World" on my blog and I focus on the food of one country for a month. Right now I'm doing German food and you have a few recipes that would be PERFECT! Please stop by and leave a comment with the links to this recipe, and then these two:

That way I can add them to the running total of German food and people can easily find some great German recipes! :) Thanks!
