Crockpot Chicken Cordon Bleu

One meal Frog Prince and I greatly enjoy is Chicken Cordon Bleu, except, the original recipe is somewhat painful to make because the chicken breasts need pounding, stuffing and rolling.....

But, the crockpot version, now that I love. It's easy, quick, delicious and tastes just like the fancy version.

Crockpot Chicken Cordon Bleu

4 chicken breasts (or tenders)
~1/2 bottle Honey Dijon dressing
4 slices of honey ham
4 slices of Baby Swiss cheese
1 C bread crumbs (or Stove Top Stuffing)

Spray the crockpot with cooking spray. Layer the chicken breasts in the bottom of the crockpot. Drizzle Honey Dijon dressing over the chicken, to taste (around 1/4 C).

Layer ham and cheese over the top of the chicken.

Top with stuffing, and drizzle about 1/4 C more dressing over the top.

Cover and cook on low for 4-6 hours, or until chicken is 180 degrees and tender.

I can't wait to try this! Our nights just got crazy busy through the week with soccer practices. I've been looking for some new crockpot recipes so I can avoid the temptation of eating out.

Wow! For as much as my husband loves chicken cordon blue, I only end up making it a couple times a year since it's such a pain. This recipe would definitely be a winner at our house!

Ooh...I may have to try this. I love cordon bleu, but like you said, it's just takes a little too much work to make. This is easy with the crock pot!

Had to come check out this recipe! My older daughter loves chicken cordon bleu - the frozen (certainly not very healthy!) version that comes in a box. I am putting this on my menu for next week in hopes of banishing the other from my freezer for good!

This looks like a great recipe! I'll have to try it soon. The chicken cordon bleu we're having this week is the pre-made, frozen, store bought kind. I love finding ways to replace store bought with homemade!

Made this a couple of weeks ago for my family, unsure what they would think since they aren't too big on honey dijon...they loved it! They are beggin' me to make it again and soon.

This looks great and easy, but before I make it I just want to double check something. The only pseudo liquid you added was the mustard?

@ Michelle --

The liquid comes from the honey dijon dressing -- this is different from honey mustard!

Does that help?
