Cookies and Cream

A few weeks ago during my ice cream maker giveaway, I was reminded of how much I love cookies and cream ice cream.  Apparently, you guys do too, as it was a top mentioned choice of an ice cream to make at home!

My makeshift version of cookies and cream ice cream used to be just vanilla with some cookie pieces.

While that is still a nice quick treat, this cookies and cream ice cream is AMAZING!  It was so easy to make and it hardened up really well.  By the second day, the cookies and ice cream really blended well together.

Cookies and Cream Ice Cream - SnoWhite

1 recipe vanilla ice cream
12-14 chocolate cream cookies, crushed/chopped

Begin by making the vanilla ice cream according to directions.

After churning for about 15 minutes, the ice cream should be solidifying.

At this point, add in the crushed/chopped cookies.

Continue mixing for another 10 minutes, until ice cream is well churned.

Freeze for 3-4 hours to achieve hard-scoop consistency.

Sprinkle additional chopped cookie pieces on the top, if desired.

Enjoy!
