From the Archives: Penne

This week, we're revisiting one of our all-time favorite dinners; penne with broccoli and sausage.    This is a perfect recipe to try at the beginning of the new year because it's quite healthy for you!

A few simple upgrades make this recipe a keeper in our kitchen.

Rather than a traditional white Alfredo sauce, this one uses a healthy sauce, made from pureed white beans and a splash or two of milk.  This gives the enjoyment of a white sauce without all the calories and saturated fats!  Even my bean-avoiding husband loves this dish.  That definitely works for me!

It's also full of green broccoli and red bell peppers.

We make ours with whole wheat pasta and with turkey sausage.

What's even better - it's a stove-top recipe, ready in about 20 minutes.

Hope you'll stop by and check out today's archived recipe: Penne with Broccoli and Sausage.
