Pasta and Creamy Mushrooms

This was one of the first recipes I tried when we embarked on our cooking journey and it's a recipe we continue to go back to time and time again.  We love the flavor of the mushrooms and the creaminess of the pasta!

We've tried it with garlic sauteed chicken too and that's also a hit!

Pasta and Creamy Mushrooms - Adapted from Taste of Home
{Print Recipe}

1 lb cavapatti pasta
1 T butter
8 oz sliced mushrooms (mix and match types)
1/2 C onion
3 large garlic cloves, minced or chopped
1/2 tsp. salt, divided
1/4 tsp. pepper
2/3 C whipping cream
1/2 C freshly grated Parmesan
1 tsp. parsley

Cook pasta (omit salt and any oils).

Meanwhile, melt 1 T butter in a skillet. Add mushrooms, onions and garlic and cook until all liquids are gone.

Sprinkle with 1/4 tsp. salt and pepper.

Add cooked pasta, whipping cream and cheese. Toss to coat.

Stir in remaining salt and parsley and enjoy!

  1. I made this tonight. It was good! I was pleasantly surprised that the sauce didn't involve more work - it was so simple. Thanks for the recipe!!
