Ultimate Blog Party 2009
Welcome to my kitchen! I grew up not really liking to cook... my mom was a great cook and I was a bit intimidated by it. But moving to another state and getting married quickly made me see that cooking can and should be fun and easy!
I'm a beginning chef, but I have found such joy in my kitchen. I love hosting other people and cooking for my family -- what a change of heart I have had. God has show me the beauty of foods by helping us eating healthy and with as few processed foods as possible, and by being creative and trying new flavors to enjoy food despite our food allergies. I also love sharing recipes and photography, which is why I started this blog. My mom won't try any new recipe without a photo :)
I love to menu plan, organize my kitchen and feed my family frugally! Yes, it is possible to eat healthy and be frugal! My hubby kindly named me Snow White because of my love of cooking and organizing.
Check out our family recipe box for the recipes we love and can't wait to try, and poke around.... Whether it's chicken, pasta, soup or dessert, maybe you'll find something for dinner!
Thanks for stopping by!

Hi!
ReplyDeleteI'm not much a of a cook but I do love to bake. I've toyed with the idae of becoming a pastry chef whenever I go back to school.
Nice to meet you!
I'll be back to check out your recipes. I hate, no loath, cooking.

Hi!
ReplyDeleteI got to your blog through the link on Linnea's and I have to say I really love seeing all the new recipes you try! It has made me think about ways to be creative in my kitchen. And I love the photos too - you're right, every recipe should have a photo.
Carla
Came over to party! Nice to meet you.
ReplyDeleteStopping by for the party -- I love to cook and love trying new recipes too!
ReplyDeleteHi there! I love to cook, although it took me a few years to learn how, especially without a recipe. You have some great recipes here!
ReplyDeleteI'm a very beginner chef (and getting married soon, so I better learn fast!). I'm looking forward to getting inspiration from your posts!
ReplyDeleteEnjoy the party!
Stopping by from the party--I love looking at new recipes!! The Philly Cheese Steak sandwiches look yummy!
ReplyDeleteI love to see new recipes! I most likely to try recipes with pictures, too. Anyway, it's nice to meet you. I have two blogs, but I'm participating with the party at my book blog -- Teen Lit Review. I'd love it if you stopped by.
ReplyDeleteOh yes, thanks for having me!
ReplyDeleteI am not very good at meal planning. Hope to learn more.
I've a couple of handicaps, i eat mostly vegetarian (still occasionally eat fish) & gluten free. So i'm excited about your vegetarian meals & i can convert baked goods to gluten free myself.
Looking forward to following your blog!
Oh! I love recipe blogs! I am here for the UBP but will be back to try some of your yummy recipes!
ReplyDeleteYour blog has lots of yummy looking things! I will have to come back often. Thanks for stopping by my blog!
ReplyDeleteGod bless,
Amanda
I started out the same way! I've actually got some recipes over at my party, but you've got some over there in the archives that I'm itching to try out, like the Crockpot Chicken Parmesan. It sounds delish...
ReplyDeleteGreat blog!
Hey, that mushroom/asparagus quiche and those lemon/blueberry scones look super yum. That's as far as I got though..will be back to check out more recipes for sure! Gotta keep partying!
ReplyDeleteOk can we talk Corn Bread for a minute? I made this amazing corn bread and well, I'm sure you have a great one too. But so, I made it and we all just ate the heck out of it (it was soooo good) My kids even ate it like dessert. But so , well my problem....you see, well maybe I'll give you the ingredients, maybe you'll understand then.... ok so it calls for 4 boxes of Jiffy corn bread mix and 1 can cream corn, and 1 stick of butter. So now do you see my problem? 4 Boxes of mix, I have cornbread coming out of my ears. And I think we have od'd on it. So any ideas (besides cutting the recepie in half...which I'll do next time, thank you) on what to do with the left overs that will make it appealing again?
ReplyDeletethanks!

Hi! Good to meet you. Your recipes look yummy. I absolutely love to cook and am obsessed with grocery shopping, coupon clipping and finding challenging recipes (for the weekends) and quick delicious recipes (for the workweek). I seem to have stumbled into the right blog...coming for the party at 5 minutes for mom.
ReplyDeleteI love cooking too but I get in a rut of the same ole same ole food. Will be coming back to get some new recipes :) Great party...stop by mine when you get a chance!
ReplyDeleteThank you for visiting my blog! You have an amazing blog and I deffinately will be back! I love to cook and try new recipies, but I get into a rut so it is good to see that you have menu ideas etc. As to your question of how I became a missionary in Alaska....I graduated high school in 1999 and my church had asked me if I had plans for the summer, of which I had none, and then they asked if I wanted to be a camp counselor because this camp in AK needed girl counselors. I said that I would love to and left for AK 2 weeks later! After the summer I had plans of going to college in AZ...but because I loved the people that I worked with and the area so much I asked if I could stay on as a short term staff person. This is where I met my husband and we were married the next year and have lived here ever since. We work at Solid Rock Bible Camp and we have to raise support. This camp opperates year round so there is always lots to do. Since I started a family I am more focused on raising them, but I still help out when I can. There are 7 other full times staff families that we work with and a few short termers! We see over a 1000 kids go through our camps every summer and we have over 250 volunteers that help during the summer. So anyway that is how I came to be a missionary in AK. I look forward to following your blog and learning more about your family and all your recipies!
ReplyDeleteThanks for visiting my blog! I can't wait to check out your recipes. We are on a tight budget and it looks like your blog could really help us out!
ReplyDeleteOh, I absolutely LOVE your blog! I delight in creating delicious meals that are appealing to the appetite and eyes. I'll definitely be back!
ReplyDeleteBTW, thanks for dropping by my blog.
Jennifer
ooohhh...I so need your recipes! I'm (ahem) a bit challenged in the kitchen realm. I'll be back Snow White!
ReplyDeleteI just love your blog! I am having so much fun at this blog party!! I love to cook and love trying new recipes, especially ones with pictures! I will definitely be back, and I am going to follow you!
ReplyDeleteHave a great weekend!
Blessings!
Just popping over from UBP to "meet" you. What a lovely blog you have. Love the color palate.
ReplyDeleteI have yet to really hit my stride, so to speak, in the kitchen. I fix food, but I'm not sure I'll ever get to the point where I look forward to it, you know? After twelve years of marriage and almost eight years of children, it doesn't seem likely! :)
Party hoppin from the UBP! I am starting to try new recipes and cook more from scratch so I will have to try a few recipes from your blog. I hope you are having fun and meeting lots of fabulous ladies. Blessings --
ReplyDeleteI do not cook as much as I used to.... maybe if I would come back here more often... I would be motivated to do so...huh?
ReplyDeleteThis is my first blog party..
such fun!
Hope you havea great week!
Blessings!
