Apple Crisp
I think I love apple crisp almost more than apple pie. The crumble topping is delicious.... especially when paired with ice cream :)
Apple Crisp - Mom
5 large apples (tart are best!)
1/2 C sugar*
1/2 tsp. cinnamon
2 T flour
1 C oatmeal
1/2 C brown sugar
1/3 C flour
1 tsp. cinnamon
3 T butter, softened
Peel, core and slice apples. Then, stir 1/2 C* (or less, if your apples are sweeter) sugar and 2 T of flour together with the apples.
Sprinkle the apples with 1/2 tsp. cinnamon.
In a large bowl, mix together the oatmeal, brown sugar, flour and cinnamon. Then, cut in the softened butter.
Sprinkle the topping over the apples.
Bake at 375 for 30-40 minutes, until bubbly and lightly browned.
Allow to cool for 10ish minutes before serving.
Top with ice cream for an extra treat.

ReplyDeleteI used your recipe this weekend and it turned out fantastic! I wasn't sure what size dish to bake it in, a 9x9 seemed too small, a 11x13 seemed too big, so I settled for a deeper 2.5 quart baking dish and it was great! Thanks for sharing!
