Yum - o.
Try it.
Trust me.
Paired with these delicious pancakes -- you'll never go back to syrup.
Fried Apple Topping
2-3 medium apples, finely chopped
1 T brown sugar*
1/4 tsp. cinnamon
1 T butter
Melt butter over medium heat. Meanwhile, add the sugar and cinnamon to the apples and toss to coat.
Add the apples and saute until the desired tenderness is reached.
Serve warm over ....
The possibilities are endless. Ice cream... waffles... graham crackers... oatmeal... oh, my. Even plain by themselves would be a tasty treat.
Of course you can scale up this recipe, as this recipe will serve about 2 people.
*Depending on the sweetness of your apple, you can omit the sugar entirely. We often do this!

ReplyDeleteYUMMY!!! I really like this recipe. THANKS!!! Geri
ReplyDeleteThis comes at a perfect time. I make mini cheesecakes that have a spot on top for fruit and I like this better than using canned high sugar pie filling. I have done something similar but I like this version a bunch. I was planning on making them again this weekend.
ReplyDeleteI am going to give this a try! I made something very similar with bananas earlier this week. You might like it:

ReplyDeleteI made this to go on German pancakes for breakfast this morning. It was just what I was looking for. Much better than the powdered sugar or syrup we usually use. Next up, pancakes. Thanks for sharing.
ReplyDeleteSo glad you enjoyed this -- we love it too.
