And, we're back.
We had a delightful time celebrating both Thanksgiving and Christmas with my family over the past few days. We were blessed with fun times playing games and doing lots of yummy baking! It was a lot of fun to cook in my mom's wonderful kitchen with both her and my sister.
This week we're hoping to have a girl's night... and we have our favorite event of the year... the Grad IV Thanksgiving! The grad chapter of InterVarsity on our campus hosts a Thanksgiving for international students to celebrate and share in Thanksgiving. It's always a wonderful treat to share in a truly international Thanksgiving, as the very first Thanksgiving was too.
I'm still a bit discombobulated from traveling and trying to get ready for the week... so while I get settled, I'll tempt you with some yummy photos of the goodies I'll be posting about over the next week or so:
Nut-Free Chex Mix
Light Hawaiian Banana Bread
Mom's Wild Rice Stuffing
Sweet Potato Pie
(with a gingersnap crust)
Whole Wheat Gingersnaps
Italian Sausage Breakfast Scramble
Mom's Mint Oreo Crunch
This week, after grocery shopping... we'll be cooking:
Dried Fruit (cherries, cranberries, raisins, apples and pineapple)
Apples (honey crisp)
No-Nut Chex Mix
Su - Mom's Turkey Noodle Soup (from MOM!!), crackers
Tu - Cheesy Open BBQ Sandwiches, broccoli
W - Sopa Seca with black beans (new), corn
Th - Leftovers
F - Turkey Lasagna, mixed veggies
S - International Thanksgiving Dinner!
Gosh... I don't know that we'll make any this week ;) Who am I kidding? We're totally making crustless
apple pie with vanilla ice cream!
