Ever since I saw Kelly's recipe for homemade grilled pizza a few months ago, I've been itching to make some!
This past week, while visiting my family, we gave the pizza a try. It was so delicious, we made it again before we headed home {where we are currently grill-less}.
Grilled Pizza - Adapted from Kelly
{Print Recipe}
Makes 5-6 individually-sized pizzas
1 recipe, pizza crust
8 oz. tomato paste
2 tsp. Italian seasoning
1 garlic clove, minced
Toppings, of your choosing
Prepare the crust as directed. The crust recipe we used (which is now my favorite recipe) takes 30 minutes to rise and about 10 minutes to make, so in 40-minutes you can be ready for pizza! I highly recommend this crust. It's amazing on the grill.
While the crust rises, prepare the pizza sauce by first sauteeing the garlic in just a few drips of olive oil. Then, add in the tomato paste and Italian seasonings. Remove from the heat and transfer to a small bowl {you'll want to take all the toppings out to the grill}.
Place remaining toppings in small bowls, ready to take them out to the grill.
When the dough has risen, divide the dough into 5-6 equal parts. Roll each out into a rectangle or circle for individual pizzas. Lightly spread each side of the dough with olive oil.
Clean off the grill well, and pre-heat it to medium heat. If you have a grill spray, spray it. Otherwise, use a cooking spray and spray the grill so the crust doesn't stick.
Place the crust onto the grill, close the grill and cook over medium heat for about 1 minute.
Then, flip the crust over and assemble the pizza.
Close the lid and cook the pizza until the cheese is melted.
Enjoy!
Look at that crust...
Yummy!
Thanks, Mom and Dad for letting us use your grill!! These were awesome :)

What a perfect summer meal. My favorite thing about grilled meals is that I don't know how to use the grill so Evan does it! I will have to tuck this one away. And you, my friend, most definitely need to invest in a BBQ when you move :) You will wonder how you ever did without.
ReplyDeleteill be doing grilled pizza this week as we just got a new grill and need to break it in!
ReplyDeleteWhen we get dh a new grill, we are definitely going to have to try this. Thank you for sharing!! :D

ReplyDeleteOh yum! We've been making grilled pizza the last few weeks too. One of my fave things about summer.
ReplyDeleteHomemade pizza is a stable in our house and love when summer rolls around and we can toss them on the grill. Amazing! PS I usually use Naan bread as the crust -- it works well and doesn't require any pre-baking.
ReplyDeleteI cannot wait to try this out! Your looks so yummy!! Cute picture of the parents! Nice touch!!
ReplyDeleteThanks again, for sharing your recipe with Tuesday Tastes! People's Choice Award Polls are open now, come vote for your favorite!

Once we took pizza (we'd made at home) to a snowy cabin for a get-away. When we arrived with hungry kids, the ovens were too small for the pizzas. We never thought of that, but there was a grill my guy fired up and it was the best pizza we ever had! You get my tasty vote for actually making it and showing how and it looks amazing. Thanks for reminding me this is a great summer grill! Looking forward to following you and more fun!
ReplyDeleteThanks for linking up and participating in the Summer Grilling Recipe Exchange. I hope you can join again next week.

You had me with the image with the fresh basil. I haven't tried grilled pizza in quite some time and was not all that impressed the first time, but I think we ought to give it a go once more! Your toppings look like our kind of toppings!
