We were playing cards this weekend and talking about cooking with some friends. One of my dear friends mentioned that if you zap a garlic clove in the microwave for 5-10 seconds, the peel comes right off.
Simply warm, cut the end off and the whole clove just pops right out! Then I can use my garlic press to mince away, and my fingers don't end up smelling like garlic for the rest of the day :)
Awesome tip, thanks for sharing!

Hmm nice tip. I have so much trouble with my garlic press that I ended up giving up and buying a jar of pre-minced garlic, which definitely isn't nearly as tasty. I'll have to remember this.
ReplyDeleteI usually don't have trouble with peeling garlic, but every now and then I run into a piece that just doesn't want to give up it's skin! I'll try to remember to give this a try =) Thanks for the tip!
