Kitchen Tip Tuesday

for more, click on the image

We were playing cards this weekend and talking about cooking with some friends. One of my dear friends mentioned that if you zap a garlic clove in the microwave for 5-10 seconds, the peel comes right off.

Simply warm, cut the end off and the whole clove just pops right out! Then I can use my garlic press to mince away, and my fingers don't end up smelling like garlic for the rest of the day :)

  3. Hmm nice tip. I have so much trouble with my garlic press that I ended up giving up and buying a jar of pre-minced garlic, which definitely isn't nearly as tasty. I'll have to remember this.

  4. I usually don't have trouble with peeling garlic, but every now and then I run into a piece that just doesn't want to give up it's skin! I'll try to remember to give this a try =) Thanks for the tip!
