This might be your new favorite ice cream.
Smooth & creamy, tart yet caramelized apples, a hint of cinnamon & sweet grahams all wrapped up in one dish.
Try it – I know you’ll enjoy it!
Apple Cinnamon Spice Ice Cream
Ingredients
- 1 can sweetened condensed milk
- 1 C whipping cream
- 2 C half & half {or whole milk}
- 1 tsp. vanilla
- 2 medium apples, peeled & sliced thin {we used Haralson}
- 1/2 tsp. cinnamon
- 1-4 tsp. brown sugar
- 2 graham crackers, broken into small pieces
About 30 minutes before you wish to make ice cream, peel the apples & slice them into thin pieces. Sauté them in a large skillet (you can add a 1/2 T butter, if desired), along with cinnamon and brown sugar until slightly tender and caramelized.
Remove from the heat and then chill until ready to use. You don’t want to add hot apples to ice cream… that doesn’t work out so well!
Combine the sweetened condensed milk, cream, half & half and vanilla in a large bowl. Stir well until blended.
Pour the ice cream mixture into the frozen bowl of your ice cream maker. Turn on the ice cream maker and allow the ice cream maker to make your ice cream.
Add in the chilled apple mixture, along with crushed graham crackers in the last 10 minutes or so of your ice cream maker’s allotted time (we added ours after about 15 minutes).
Scoop out into freezer-safe containers and allow the ice cream to harden in your freezer for 4 hours before serving. Alternatively, you can serve it before then, it will just have more of a soft-serve consistency.
For a real treat, drizzle with homemade caramel sauce. Yum-O.
