A 60-degree weekend... it was lovely. We spent lots of time outside, hiking, laughing, crunching leaves beneath our feet and breathing in the fall weather. This was the first nice weekend since... September! And, we enjoyed it.
We even took a trip to the farmer's market, where we ordered ourselves a Thanksgiving turkey! Yes, that's right... I'm cooking a turkey this year. It will be the first time that Frog Prince and I are celebrating Thanksgiving just the two of us... and I'm looking forward to cooking.
Last week, we should have fired up the BBQ... oh, wait, we'd have to have one first :) Instead, we enjoyed:
(my hubby's new favorite)
(with apple topping)
(which was devoured at Life Group)
(a healthy twist on a familiar favorite)
This week, we're traveling to visit my family and we're celebrating an early Thanksgiving and really early Christmas with them, as we won't be back to visit until.... we don't know when. I'm looking forward to cooking with my family this week, so our meal plan is still a little up in the air at this point.

ReplyDeleteoo we're going to try that roasted veggie parm and the veggie soup. We just watched Food, Inc and are now on a mission to find more meatless meals we like. These 2 look super yummy!

ReplyDeletelooks great. I bookmarked that shortbread, seems like it would be a great holiday party recipe!
ReplyDeleteHi Sara, some great recipes you have here! We'll have to try some of these. I'm really interested to know how your free-range turkey turns out and compares to a regular store-bought one. Please post an analysis after the big day!
ReplyDeleteTake care,
Emily Morrison
