Easter is my FAVORITE holiday.
A holiday filled with JOY.
For a Savior the grave could NOT contain!
But, it’s a holiday that our family doesn’t have many food-related traditions for, nor other big traditions; we just enjoy spending time together celebrating!
No Easter baskets filled with candy here – mainly because the candy has nuts! Although, I do have plans to try some DIY candy versions this year.
So, we are celebrating Christ’s Resurrection with ham and potatoes, and a few new traditions:
Breakfast {before & after Church}
Resurrection Rolls
{Before church on Sunday, we’ll start the day with these new-to-us resurrection rolls!}

Orange Cranberry Muffins
{After church, while we wait for lunch, we’ll have these yummy muffins & fresh fruit}
For our main meal {late lunch}, we’re planning to make:
Crockpot Scalloped Potatoes & Ham
{this can easily cook away while we are at church Sunday morning}
Herbed Green Beans
{We love green beans, simply steamed & spiced with basil & a little butter too!}
Spiced Country Applesauce
{This applesauce is the BEST, and it’s a great way to bring fruit into our menu without shelling out tons of $ for fruit that is not yet in season}
Deviled Eggs
{Can’t wait for these!!}
Dessert
We haven’t fully decided on our dessert menu yet, but here’s what we’re debating between:
Whole Wheat Carrot Zucchini Cake
{This is ultimately my favorite dessert cake. I’m voting for this one!}
Carrot Bars
{A delicious second to the carrot zucchini cake; super moist & yummy!}
Strawberry Cheesecake Ice Cream
{another one of our favorites!}
Fruit Pizza
{This one is always a hit!}
Creamy Smooth Chocolate Pie
{This is a new recipe for us – but it looks so tempting….}

Cherry Cheesecake
{No pudding in this no-bake cheesecake – might top it with cherries or other berries}

Help us decide… which dessert!?!?!
Thank you for the great dessert links! Have a blessed Easter with your family.
ReplyDeleteit all sounds so yummy and looks so good
ReplyDeletecome see me at http://shopannies.blogspot.com
i have made the blueberry lemon bars or something very similar and i can tell you they are GOOD. easy to make too. for me personally though they are less of a holiday dessert though i like to use holidays as an excuse to be a little fancy : ) plus give me anything chocolate or with cream cheese icing and i would pick that in a heartbeat !
ReplyDeleteI vote for Strawberry Cheesecake Ice cream :)
ReplyDeleteI'm planning on making your carrot zucchini cake....can't wait to try it! So I vote for that, with a side of strawberry cheesecake ice cream. Can't have too many desserts, you know. :)
ReplyDeleteFix all the desserts and either freeze or give them away!! They look too good to just choose one or two.
