Menu Plan–Sept. 18

We had a great weekend!  Our washer and dryer arrived this week, along with our new chest freezer, so we spent a good portion of Friday and Saturday getting those hooked up and running.  This, of course, required rearranging our basement – which meant, a good deep clean.  But, it feels great now that it’s done!

We celebrated on Sunday with our friends from church as they dedicated their baby boy, and then we finished up the weekend by putting some finishing touches on our front entry way.  It was a whirlwind, but fun.

Our menu plan went pretty well last week – we enjoyed:

1. Roasted Red Pepper Tortellini Bake {family fav}
2. Grandma’s Apple Pie {recipe to come}
3. Crockpot Zucchini Sausage Soup & Cheddar Cheese Biscuits
4. Savory Zucchini Bread Sandwiches {neighborhood picnic}
5. Blueberry Buttermilk Waffles
6. Penne with Spinach and Chicken
7. Roasted Red Pepper Italian Parmesan Pasta Salad {new}
8. Spiced Country Applesauce
9. Ham & Cheese Pockets {freezer}

The highlight of the upcoming week is coming on Monday… we get to meet our friends’ new daughter who was born on Thursday!  We’re bringing them an apple pie and three cheese baked ziti

  1. You have a beautiful looking house - the entryway looks great and enjoy the new washer/dryer and freezer!
    I am going to make your applesauce this week (probably tomorrow or Wed. when the weather is a bit cooler and I'll want the fall apple smell in my house!)
    Also, the two orchards I love near the Twin Cities are: Pleasant Valley Orchards in Taylors Falls (a bit of a drive north but it's a sweet little orchard with great apples, great selection, and it's never very busy, even on weekends.) Now that we've moved to the west metro, we go to Minnetonka Orchards in Minnetrista. A bit busier, they charge admission on weekends, caters more towards kids with some play areas, etc., but still a really nice orchard with good apples.

    Love your menu plan too -- sounds like your Crock Pot is getting some use! :)

  3. That menu looks great. I had pumpkin spice oatmeal for breakfast this morning. It was VERY good. I'd like to try the granola. Do you eat it dry?
