Shoveling Time #1
Shoveling Time #2
And, we’re still cleaning out! We had planned to go to the Vikings game with friends on Sunday, but the snow even put a stop to that. Translation … we had a nice lazy weekend at home {minus all that shoveling} to end the semester.
We also learned two important home-owner lessons:
1) Buy another shovel. We only have one.
2) Make sure you pull out your snow blower and get it working before the first snow.
This is the 5th snowiest snow storm of all time. The only other snowy storm that I recall was the Halloween Blizzard of 1991.
This last week was wonderful, but so busy. Cooking was the last thing on my mind – so it was a great treat to have my husband, mom and sister make a delicious pot of baked potato soup!

So… do you have snow yet where you live?
Not fun to shovel, but that doesn't stop me from being green with envy over your snow!!! We're thinking about building an ark up here in the Pacific NW~thanks for sharing your snow pics. Looks like I'm going to have to try some new recipes! ;) Enjoy your time off!
ReplyDeletewe got lots and lots of rain today! which is unusual for this time of yr in New England. we probably would have had the 20 inches of snow if it was colder!
ReplyDeletecant wait for pork and apple over brown rice recipe! it sounds great!
Facebook has kept me up to date with all the snow there- I am kinda jealous. It has been really nice here- but it is december- it should be snowing! Glad you are safe. Enjoy the christmas weather. (I remember the 91 blizzard- our halloween costumes looked funny under our snowsuits!)
ReplyDeleteWe are hoping for some snow tonight here south of Buffalo on Lake Erie. I guess it was a good thing that you were in the stadium today huh?? I saw video of the roof collapsing and it was crazy.
ReplyDeleteYES! This weekend's snowstorm was craaaazy! Our streets are terrible here, we barely made it half a mile away to the grocery store. Eek!
ReplyDeleteYou even made the news over here in Belgium with your snowstorm! We have been taking the time to enjoy the Belgian Christmas experience:-) Be sure to check my blog for lowcost gifts from the heart:-) Love your blog!
ReplyDeleteWow that snow!! I can't even imagine. Please tell me you made a snow man.
ReplyDeleteYour menu looks delicious as always and that soup, extra yummy.
I am hosting my treats week this week, hope you will stop by.
Your chicken parm sounds fantastic! I've got loads of sauce in the freezer from this summer; I'll definitely be giving that a try!
ReplyDeleteWe got about a foot and a half of snow last week here in upstate NY (we're about an hour east of Buffalo) - then plenty of rain to melt most of it, but it's back to snowing again.
We actually had a few snow flurries this weekend and this morning. It was very strange to drive to work with snow coming down. We just don't get that a lot here in Alabama.
ReplyDeleteI'm not envious of all that snow. Anytime it snows more than an inch here, everything shuts down and we are paralyzed until it melts.
No snow where I live yet, but last year we had a freak Blizzard on Christmas Eve, so who knows... could still happen. I have to say since I came across your blog I have been coming to it almost daily, checking out all the great recipe ideas. I recently started taking over the cooking in the house again, and while I'm a decent cook, I've only just started to feel comfortable in the kitchen. Thanks for making my journey so much more interesting and fun. Love trying out new things!!!
